Skunk's latest obsession is obtaining the book review portion of the "New Yak Times" (I love the references, guys, I LOVE them) and Badger is doing Important Rock Work in his rock room.īut then, Skunk finds out that his previous neighbor, G. In Egg Marks the Spot, Badger and Skunk are doing just fine as roommates in Aunt Lula's brownstone. The perfect, relaxing read to enjoy with a cozy cup of tea. I loved this story and had no issues with it as an adult. Well, Skunk and Badger's adventures in Egg Marks the Spot are truly for all ages. When people say "oh, this is perfect for ALL AGES!" sometimes what they mean is, it's perfect for kids but not dumb for adults to sit through. If you're new to the series, check out this one first!Īs a grown woman with no kids, I guess I'm an odd age demographic for this series, but let me tell you something: I absolutely loved this book. This is the second adventure with Skunk and Badger. This one took everything I loved about the first adventure and made it bigger and better. Another adventure with Skunk and Badger? We are blessed. 7/5/2023 0 Comments The iron fae seriesI was a little disappointed because I have read The Immortal Rules, also by Julie Kagawa and the characters in that are absolutely amazing. I found them to be a little flat and not very layered. The characters are nice, but not much more than that. The storyline is unpredictable, thrilling and suspenseful. I liked how Julie Kagawa mixed these two together to create a wholly unique world for the characters to be a part of. The story is a modern and ancient mix with the original Summer and Winter fey being the ancient part of Nevernever, born out of fables and human dreams while the Iron fey are the more modern part of Nevernever being born out of the human technological dreams. The plot of the book is very unique and I know I always say that but I promise you I'm not just saying this. We also have side characters such as the kings and queens of Nevernever, Grimalkin and certain Iron fey the characters are friends with. The series focuses on Meghan, Ash, Puck, Ethan, Kierran and Kenzie as some of the main characters. I read the series a while back and have re-read it recently because I really loved it the first time around I had read it. The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa is a unique and well written series. 7/5/2023 0 Comments Dokkaebi vicious spiritsThis novel illustrates the ongoing effects of differing parenting styles as Kat Cho expertly integrates the mythology with the present day. In this sequel the characters of Somin and Junu are richly drawn as we discover the complex backstory that has formed Junu’s need to protect Somin, Miyoung and Jihoon. The story continues on from Wicked Fox with the main characters, Jihoon and Miyoung, grieving the loss of loved ones. Set in the present day, in Seoul, the novel explores the relationships between the four main characters (Somin, Junu, Miyoung and Jihoon). The reading pleasure is supported by a glossary and cultural notes. This novel engrosses the reader in Korean mythology (focussing on Dokkaebi, Gumiho and JeoSeung Saja) having folktales interspersed between chapters. This fantasy novel follows on from Wicked Fox and is best understood after reading the first book.
