The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born-three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. I love stories about three sisters, being one of three sisters myself (although not a triplet, and not inclined to kill my sisters), so this plus magic powers over the elements or nature or poison, I was totally on board with this book. Although I’ve never read any of Blake’s other books, Anna Dressed in Blood is also something I have vague intentions of reading, but the high fantasy setting of Three Dark Crowns pushed it higher up my list. Three Dark Crowns is one of those books that just seems to have been floating on my radar since before its release. ![]() |
